My first web-log
Hello everyone. This is the first time I have written a blog! I’m excited to have the opportunity to speak to you all, but I also feel a bit apprehensive.
First, let me introduce myself.
I am from England; I used to live in London. I was a computer consultant. I got bored with that, so I went to Thailand, and lived on a tiny desert island. I learned to SCUBA dive, and eventually I became a diving instructor.
I loved Thailand, but I missed the big city. I didn’t want to go back to England, so I wondered…
Where could I find a big, modern city, but with an interesting culture? JAPAN!
I came to Japan about one and a half years ago. I lived in Tokyo for 1 year, before moving to Language Village.
I really enjoy teaching here. It’s a beautiful place, and we have so many things to do – table-tennis, billiards, a huge movie theatre, swimming, karaoke, tennis…and the wonderful Japanese garden with a view of Mount Fuji.
I believe that English should be taught in a practical way. Not with boring lessons, but going out for a walk, singing a song, playing a game or simply through conversation. I am glad that Language Village gives me the chance to teach in this modern and dynamic way.
I get a huge kick from seeing students improve their English speaking skills – often within just a few days of staying here!
I hope you will come and join us.
