先月4月23日、ランゲッジ・ヴィレッジ創立10周年記念祝賀会を 大芳産業 社員全員でお祝いしました。 ランゲッジ・ヴィレッジの創立は2004年の8月ですので正確には11周年ですが、現在の地に引っ越してからの10周年記念ということで挙行いたしました。冒頭の写真は、ジョーがバックトゥーザフューチャーで有名な「ジョニー・B・グッド」を熱唱しているところです（笑）

ランゲッジ・ヴィレッジの中では、日本人スタッフと外国人スタッフは毎日のように顔を合わせていますが、大芳産業の他部門の方々と外国人スタッフが触れ合う機会はそんなに多くないので、今回は非常に有意義な機会となりました。

10周年という節目を迎えることができたのは、今までランゲッジ・ヴィレッジに関わってくださったすべての方々のおかげであることをここに改めて表明し、おひとりおひとりに感謝したいと思います。本当にありがとうございます！

とは言っても、そのすべての方々を祝賀会へご招待するわけにもいきませんので、今回は社員限定にてこじんまりと挙行させていただきました。 そこで、今回のブログでは、祝賀会において披露した「合宿制語学学校 ランゲッジ・ヴィレッジ10 周年記念祝賀会メモリアルメッセージ　～ 大芳産業のDNA ～」をご紹介したいと思います。少し長くなりますが、お付き合いください。

（日本文）ランゲッジ・ヴィレッジ10周年記念祝賀会メモリアルメッセージ～大芳産業のDNA～

1920 年代、静岡県富士市大渕（当時は大渕村） は水無し村として有名でした。河川や湖水は皆無な上に富士山の溶岩によってできた大地は井戸を掘ることも困難で、常に水不足に悩まされていたからです。そのため、産業といえるものはほとんどなく、農業も稲作はもちろん、水が必要となる商品作物はほとんど栽培できませんでした。当時、秋山家はそのような環境の下で、非常に貧しい農家ではありましたが、第二代当主秋山政吉は非常に好奇心旺盛で今でいうベンチャー精神あふれる青年でした。「溶岩によってできた乾燥した土地」という農業には絶望的ともいえる条件の下でどうしたら価値あるものを作り出せるか。政吉はまず、この環境の本質は何かを考えました。 「溶岩によってできた乾燥した土地」は見方を変えれば、「水はけのよい土壌」です。彼は、この環境に適した商品作物で最も価値の高いものは何かを調べました。その結果、「ぶどう」に目を付け、「ぶどう」の産地として有名だった山梨県まで出かけて行き栽培技術を身に着けました。試行錯誤の末、大渕の土地は「ぶどう」の生育に適しているという確証を得、借金をして広大な土地を取得します。ようやく作付けが終わりに差し掛かったころ、突然の不幸が政吉を襲います。なんと「腸チフス」にかかり間もなく亡くなってしまうのです。残されたのは、年老いた両親と妻と子供たち、そして広大な土地と莫大な借金です。この時、政吉の長男である三代目の芳男はまだ十三歳。ですから、家計の責任は妻シゲの一身にのしかかりました。当然、「ぶどう」の栽培技術は政吉以外、大渕村の誰にも分かりません。作付けが終わったばかりの「ぶどう」は諦めるしかありませんでした。しかし、そんな貧乏のどん底でもシゲは土地を売りませんでした。この土地を維持し、この土地を活用して生活する道を選んだのです。 まずは、当時大渕村にてすでに一般化しつつあったお茶の栽培に切り替え、お茶農家として再出発します。その後、芳男が成長し、彼の手で製茶工場を立て、お茶の自園自製までを行うようになりました。そして、その傍らで紙より紐の製造工場も立ち上げ、四代目の政美に継承された後、お茶の自園自製に加え、販売までも手掛けます。それから、強化プラスティック加工業、法人としての大芳産業の本格的事業である物流倉庫、輸入雑貨販売業、そしてこの度開業10 周年を迎えることとなった合宿制語学学校ランゲッジ・ヴィレッジにも繋がっていきます。 その時代ごとに時流を読み、自らが持つ経営資源の「本質」と市場の潜在的需要の「本質」との接点を考え抜く経営を行い、それを継承していく姿勢はまさに、志半ばでこの世を去ることとなった二代目政吉のDNA を受け継いでいることの証であると確信しています。 これからも、大芳産業株式会社は、彼自身の行動原理でもあった「他（人） 社とは全く異なる視点で行動すること」、そしてそれをさらに昇華させて導き出された企業理念である「物事の本質を捉え、市場の現状がその本質と外れていると判断した場合に、その溝を埋めることで絶対的な価値を提供すること」に基づいて私たちにしかできない価値を世の中に提供し続けていきます。

今回は、外国人講師も参加しましたので英文も用意しました。

（英文）　Memorial Message ~DNA of Daiho Co.,Ltd.~

In 1920s, Obuchi Fuji city where our company is located, were well known as the village without water because there were no river neither lake, and it was very difficult to dig wells on the terribly hard ground which had been made of lava from Mt. Fuji. Therefore, there was no so-called industry. So they scarcely lived on the farming the plants which did not need much water. Then, Akiyama family was a farmer as well as others under such a condition but Masakichi Akiyama was a very ambitious young man who was supposed to be called a man with a venture spirit at the present. He was always thinking how he could produce something valuable under the desperate condition for farming. He thought about the substance of the environment. “The terribly hard ground which is made of lava” is the well-drained soil by seeing from a different angle. He studied on what would be the most valuable plant corresponding to the environment. In the end, he concluded that it was “Grape”. He traveled to Yamanashi prefecture where was famous for producing grapes and learnt the skills of growing them up. After much trial and error, he proved that the ground of Obuchi was good enough for grapes and then purchased a huge land by getting a huge loan. As soon as he approached to the final step for the harvest, the sudden unhappiness attacked him. He died from typhoid fever. Therefore, only old parents, wife, small kids and a huge loan for the land had been left. At that time, his eldest son: Yoshio was just 13 years old. So, all the burden for living suddenly came on his wife ”Shige”’ ‘s shoulders. Of course, no one in Obuchi except Masakichi knew about the skills for grape farming. They could not help giving up for grapes. However, Shige decided not to sell the land for living. She chose the way to keep the land and live on the land. First, they made their restart from the tea farming which was already common in Obuchi. After Yoshio grew up, he built the tea factory to be able to make continuous production. Then, he started paper-string producing factory. After succeeded by his son: Masami, in addition to the continuous production, he started selling system of tea. Then, expanded his business to FRP（Fiber-Reinforced-plastic) producing, warehouse business, sales of imported products and Language Village which we celebrate 10^th anniversary today. We are surely convinced that we succeed his DNA of Masakichi who had to die without fulfilling his life ambition. We pledge that we will continue to pursue the company philosophy “To have totally different perspectives from others” that succeeds from his own philosophy.

このような我が社の歴史を外国人スタッフはもちろんのこと、日本人スタッフと共有することも初めてのことでした。

このことによって、今まで以上に会社全体としての団結力が強まったような気がします。 そして、何より我が社が何故、「本質」にこだわった経営をするのかということを社員全員が共有できたことは本当に良かったと持っています。これを弾みにこれまで以上に、私たちにしかできない価値を世の中に提供していこうと思います。
